Hey St. George Diners!

I am about to share one of my favorite places to eat in Southern Utah: Mad Pita Express.

I recently discovered this Mediterranean delight through some girls at my office and I felt like I had been let in on a fantastic secret.

I know, I know, it probably isn’t a secret to many – there are almost 200 reviews on Trip Advisor and over 400 Google reviews – but it was new to me.

I love Mediterranean and Greek inspired food (I could probably subsist on hummus and pita bread) so I was happy to be turned on to this little gem.

My friend suggested I try the spicy chicken pita and urged me not to skip the fires. Boy was she right!

The spicy chicken pita has just the right amount of kick which is perfectly balanced by the soft pita bread and fresh veggies inside it. It was definitely a winner.

My husband had the gyro and he enjoyed it, but after tasting some of mine, he decided he would rather have ordered the spicy chicken as well.

The portions are pretty big, I probably could have saved some for later … but I didn’t.

Both of our meals were really good, though for my money it was all about the fires.

These weren’t just any fires. At Mad Pita they cover their fries in parmesan cheese and a mixture of spices and serve them with a spicy fry sauce concoction.

Personally I didn’t want any sauce to get in the way of the flavor of the fries so I skipped the dip, but that is just a personal preference and not a remark on the sauce.

But sauce or no sauce, do yourself a favor and DON’T SKIP THE FRIES.

Mad Pita Express also serves salads, kabobs, lemon soup, falafels, and a small dessert section. I really want to go back and try the baclava.

The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, and the service is friendly. There are about 10 tables inside and a few tables outside on a small porch. You can also call in your order and pick it up at a designated time.

The prices are reasonable. We paid about $20 for the pita, gyro, one plate of fries and a drink.

If you are like me and were living in a hole (or at least west of St. George’s “black ridge”), then you need to try this place.

I am a huge breakfast food fanatic. Like breakfast food all day everyday, especially waffles and crepes. There is nothing I love more than a super good brunch place that serves delicious breakfast! Luckily that is not hard to find here in St. George. There are tons of yummy places to go to get delectable crepe or hearty country fried steak, which leads me to believe that there are a lot more breakfast lovers out there than just me!

Here are my top 3 favorite brunch spots to go to when I am in search of a yummy breakfast:

1. Bear Paw Cafe

This made number one for a reason. This is bar none one of the best brunch restaurants (in my opinion). The food is so good and the portions are amazing! (I love oversized portions as well). Without a doubt my favorite meal is the crepe’s that they serve here. Melt in your mouth delicious packed with sweet sweet flavor. Another favorite of mine from here is their Belgian waffles. I have a waffle thing. I really loves waffles with a burning passion, so if I say that somewhere has darn good waffles, you best believe it. To top it all off their drink menu is awesome as well, 10 points extra cause I love Italian sodas and they make a mean Italian soda!

2. The Crepery

I wasn’t lying when I said that I love crepes and waffles. This place takes the crepe game to a whole new level! I used to live in Logan, Utah and while I lived there they opened up a Crepery, and I kid you not, I was there at least twice a week. I seriously love this place. So back to why they take the whole crepe thing to a new level… SAVORY and SWEET crepes. Yes, you read correctly. They offer savory crepes filled with things like ham and cheese, pesto and chicken and so much more. Trust me, I was hesitant at first too, but then I gave it a go and couldn’t get enough. To some I would say it takes a true foodie to appreciate this kind of culinary art, but I really don’t believe that. Oh, and their London fog, amazing. And if you don’t know what that is, I highly suggest trying one from here. SO GOOD.

3. Waffle Love

Okay, I am sure you are all sick of me talking about waffles by now… I should have made this a post about the best waffles in town or something… But I didn’t. Anyway, Waffle Love is a food truck that makes THE BEST WAFFLES. They are light but crispy and they put this cookie spread stuff on them that make them seriously to die for. My favorite is the banana cream waffle. CHOCOLATE FILLED WAFFLE piled high with whipped cream and banana slices. Omg my mouth is watering.. To get a taste of their menu you’ll have to follow them on Instagram or Facebook to see what their schedule is and drive to where they’re parked.
