Has is already been 3 weeks? Can I get honest for a second? Eating clean is a foreign experience to me. It’s taken a little bit longer to fully climb on board with this whole thing but this last week took it to the next level.
Aside from the ridiculous benefits of it being sooo convenient in the sense that I am no longer taking an hour to go find something to eat on my lunch break, I look forward to the walking into the kitchen and knowing that I am doing my body good. It really it fuel for your body, I couldn’t stress that enough. My redbull consumption has gone down, my water intake has gone up and my mind feels more alert and focused. And most of all, my skin is finally clearing up!!!
When I eat these meals I know that throughout the day I will be more efficient and focused on what I need to get done. I don’t get the afternoon crash anymore, and I know that what I am putting into my body is not harmful or going to cause me a belly ache later on.
I am really happy that I embarked on this 1% journey and am so far completely satisfied.
For the love of FOOD. I cannot get enough of these 1% meals and can’t even really begin to tell you how much they have helped me with my weight-loss journey as well as my health and well-being. Here is the thing, as I have mentioned before my weight has shifted for the worse since starting school back in June. I mean, I am not overweight by any means, but if you are a fitness lover like me, then you know those horrifying feelings you get when you look in the mirror and see that all the hard work you put in for 3 years prior is quickly starting to fade. The hard definition of your obliques and quads are no longer there, and you are starting to form a “pudge”.
I worked very hard to maintain a healthy life style and good weight before school. My struggle came when I no longer had time or energy when I was done with my 12-15 hour long days to prep anything let alone prep food for a week! So what did I do? Started to dine out, everyday. I’m not talking like I went to Viva La Chicken and maintained a healthy diet either, I am talking more like Chick-Fil-A french fries, In-N-Out, Pizza, Cookies and soon just anything I could get my hands on quickly so I could get back to work or back to school. I’m a very busy girl with days that seem to get shorter and shorter.
1% meals have helped improve my life by making it quick and easy to get a healthy wholesome meal that is perfect for my goals. Not only am I no longer scrambling at lunch while at work to quickly find something to eat, and ultimately shoving processed junk in my face, I simply just pop my conveniently labeled meal for the day into the microwave, and about 2 minutes later I have a warm, healthy and delicious meal ready for me to devour.
Another thing I have noticed, is come dinner (since I am on the breakfast and lunch plan only) I actually do go out of my way to find healthier food. Why? It’s simple, two weeks into eating so clean, I tried to eat some french fries from my friendly neighbor, Chick-Fil-A across the street from my school, and ended up feeling mentally and physically less efficient once digested. Later that night I went home with a belly ache as well as a headache. I would rather spend a little extra at Harmons or Viva La Chicken to get something that is not nearly as processed and stay on track than ever feel that icky again.
When I eat these meals I feel so much better throughout my day and it gives me motivation to maintain the healthy eating habits for dinner and for snacking. I have also regained some confidence since losing some fatty pounds and am feeling good enough to get back into the gym! I can honestly say, that this has been one of the best decisions/commitments (because us food lovers know eating clean is definitely a commitment) I have made for my body in a long time.
I am still very excited to start seeing more results as far as getting definition back and regaining my strength at the gym!
